Bonnie S. Barnhart, 72, of Greensburg, died Thursday, October 4, 2018. She was born September 20, 1946, in St. Louis, a daughter of the late Robert and Esther Richards Butz. She was a 1967 graduate of the Presbyterian University Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She began her nursing career at Lee Memorial Hospital in Johnstown and later at Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. She was later employed by and retired from the Plundo Medical Associates in Greensburg. Following her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Christian Layman Corps in Greensburg. Bonnie was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her step-father who was the only father she knew, Matthew J. Ordich. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mark E. Barnhart; a son: Jeffrey M. Barnhart and his wife Jodi; two grandchildren who were the light of her life, Brenna F. and Trenton J. Barnhart all of Greensburg; a brother: Terry M. Ordich and his wife Melinda of Shippingport; and a sister: Sharon Krueger and her husband Rick of Walcott, N.D. Family and friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, INC., 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the First Lutheran Church (EVERYONE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH), 246 S. Main Street, Greensburg with The Rev. Larry Kemp and Bonnie’s cousin, The Rev. John C. Dorr, co-officiating. Private interment will be in the St. Clair Cemetery.
