Herbert J. Pegher, 70, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born March 15, 1948, in Sewickley, a son of the late Vincent and Anna Krisicki Pegher. Herb served in the Army’s 1st Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. He was a life member of the VFW. Prior to retirement, Herb worked in marketing and advertising for West View Savings Bank. He is survived by his wife, Alacyn Young Pegher; a son, Roy (Susan) Walker, of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; a daughter, Callie (Joel) Burstein, of Cranberry; five grandchildren: Eva, John, and Avery Walker, and Joel III and Isaac Burstein; a brother, James (Pat) Pegher, of Mars; three sisters: Margaret VonDerau, of Cranberry, Lorraine (Lee) Weaver, of Erie, and Carol Francischina, of Wexford; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at St. Alphonsus Church, 201 Church Rd, Wexford PA 15090.
